SWARTZ CREEK – Max Murphy, a senior at Swartz Creek High School, broke the school’s single-game rushing record with 371 yards during Swartz Creek’s Week Six matchup against Linden on September 28.

The VIEW was unable to confirm that mark before last week’s press deadlines. The record was set back in 1984. In addition to setting his school’s record, Murphy’s performance also set the Flint Metro League single-game rushing record. As a team, the Dragons broke the Flint Metro League’s single-game record of rushing yards as well, posting 564 yards rushing during the contest. – A.V.
