SWARTZ CREEK — Coach Chad Reid and the Swartz Creek soccer program will be hosting a youth soccer camp, starting Monday, July 9 through Thursday, July 12. The festivities will be kicked off with an alumni game at Swartz Creek High on Sunday, July 8 at 6 p.m.

“We are looking to start a new tradition in Swartz Creek and build a strong soccer program,” said Reid. “This is the beginning of something big and fantastic. We will kick off the fun with an alumni game on Sunday evening. The current boys and girls team will be there to help and cheer on the alumni. Monday starts a weeklong skills camp where we will focus on both the technical and tactical sides of the game.”

Former Dragons of all ages are welcome to participate in the alumni game, and donations will be accepted by fans with proceeds going to the Swartz Creek soccer program.

Registration for the week-long camp will also be available during the event. The camp is open to all ages 3-18. Sessions run Monday-Thursday with ages 3-10 lasting from 5-6 p.m., followed by ages 11-18 from 6:30-8 p.m. Preregistration, which can be done at the alumni game or through contacting Coach Reid, cost $55 for the younger group and $75 for the older group and includes a T-shirt.

Registration on the first day of camp is $45 and $65 respectively and will not include a T-shirt.

“We’re proud to be Dragons and taking the time to build up the program is important, but most of all it’s about having fun in the game we love!” concluded Reid.
