Dragons drop trio of games

Photo by Timothy Mucciante FLUSHING – The Lady Dragons dropped three straight games to Flushing on Tuesday, losing 25-18, 25-17, 25-15. Jaqueline Keene led the team with five kills and was followed by Sandra Krolewski with three. Krolewski also had four solo blocks. Erika Lancaster had 17 assists, eight digs and three aces.

On Saturday, Swartz Creek placed eighth at a tournament at Flushing. Creek lost to Davison 25-18, 3-25, 4-15, Lake Fenton 17-25, 18-25, St. Johns 14-25, 14-25, and Davison again, 14-25, 14-25. The Lady Dragons picked up a pair of wins over Waterford Mott 25-18, 25-15.

Madison Pitcher led the team with 26 digs during the tournament. Madison Snider followed with 20. Madison Floria had 15 kills to lead Swartz Creek and Keene had 10. Lancaster had 35 assists for the day and Krolewski had nine blocks.

Last Thursday, Swartz Creek hosted Holly, losing 25-22, 25-21, 25-17. The Dragons took just one game from the Bronchos, winning 25-23. Pitcher had 18 digs, Keene had 13 and Abigail Buckner had 12. Lancaster had 21 assists and Krolewski and Floria each had eight kills while Buckner had seven. Krolewski had eight blocks and Floria had four.

Swartz Creek hosts Clio today and will be at a tournament at Clio Saturday before heading to Owosso next Tuesday at 6:15 p.m.
