Spirit Week starts Monday

SWARTZ CREEK – Dragons big and small will show their pride and spirit next week as the schools ramp up to Homecoming.

Festivities begin Monday, Sept. 18, when the juniors take on the seniors for the traditional powderpuff football game at 7 p.m.

Pride and Spirit Night, a community pep rally, kicks off at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the football field.

The Homecoming parade begins at 5 p.m. Friday. Homecoming queen candidates, class princesses, athletes, drivers of the class floats and more will muster at the middle school and proceed east to Morrish Road, north to Miller Road and west to Fairchild Street, ending at the football field.

At 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, the Dragons take on the Battling Bathers from Mt. Clemens.

The fun and festivity wraps up with the Homecoming dance at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Throughout the week, students will dress up for special spirit days, donning superhero shirts, wacky socks, hats, pajamas, ‘80s outfits, inside-out and backward clothing and, at most schools on Wednesday, red and white regalia. – L.R.
