Alleged assault

SWARTZ CREEK – A 30-year-old Swartz Creek man was facing a felonious assault charge after an altercation early Sunday.

About 1 a.m., police were called to the Raubinger Road apartment where the man lives with his girlfriend.

The woman, 45, reported that she and the suspect began arguing because he was unable to sleep.

The dispute escalated and he allegedly pushed her to the floor, causing a leg injury.

The woman told officers she crawled out of the apartment, but the suspect dragged her back in, put a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her.

A friend of the woman told police the suspect pushed her against a wall then left the residence on foot.

Police located the man soon after as he was walking along Miller Road. – L.R.

Head-on collision

GAINES TOWNSHIP – Two men suffered injuries when the vehicles they were driving crashed head-on early Thursday.

About 3:15 a.m., a 2008 Jeep Patriot going north on Seymour Road collided with a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup near Reid Road.

The pickup driver, a 42-year-old Swartz Creek man, told state police the other driver crossed the center line. A 19-year-old Swartz Creek man was driving the Jeep.

Both drivers were transported to area hospitals for treatment of injuries that did not appear life-threatening. A 20-year-old Swartz Creek man who was a passenger in the pickup escaped harm, according to police. – L.R.
