Advanced Physical Therapy Center receives statewide service award

GRAND BLANC — Michigan Recreation and Park Association honors Advanced Physical Therapy center with community service award.

On March 14th, The Michigan Recreation and Park Association hosted their annual awards ceremony at the Hannah Community Center in East Lansing. Advanced Physical Therapy Center was presented with the MRPA 2012 Community Service Award along with 26 other Michigan recipients.

"We are so pleased that the Grand Blanc Parks and Recreation nominated us for the 2012 Community Service Award. It is a great honor, and we hope to live up to the award by continuing our community service efforts," states Linda Gibbs, PT and co-owner of APTC.

The Michigan Recreation and Park Association is a professional organization committed to providing professional development, advocacy, information, resources, and visibility to a membership dedicated to enhancing the quality of life by creating community through people, parks, and programs.

According to the MRPA, The Community Service Awards recognize individuals, groups, and organizations that make a difference in their community through their outstanding contributions and unselfish devotion for the advancement of parks, recreation, and leisure services in the community.

“Advanced Physical Therapy Center has been a tremendous friend and source of support to the Grand Blanc Parks and Recreation Commission for several years. Their support has taken several forms. APTC has been a major sponsor of events such as the Summer Concert Series and the Grand Blanc Family fun Fest for a period of five years. They have also generously sponsored youth softball and little league baseball teams for many seasons. More than their financial support and donations to special events, Advanced Physical Therapy is extremely involved. They actively participate in special events, attending and entering teams to boost participation and revenue. They also give generously of their time and staff volunteering at programs and events. Advanced Physical Therapy Center is a generous supporter of the Grand Blanc Community as a whole and in particular to the Grand Blanc Parks & Recreation Commission,” said the MRPA.
