Lacrosse teams prepare for regional play
     SWARTZ CREEK — The Swartz Creek girls’ lacrosse team is gearing up for regional play beginning on May 24 at East Lansing beginning at 5 p.m. The Dragons are in Region 8, Division 2 at Okemos. The winner of Creek and East Lansing will face the winner between Flushing and Flint Powers.

No drama here
     The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass provided not much drama on hole No 18. One Matt Kuchar went to the 18th tee box with a two-shot lead and closed the deal. The possible drama ended when Matt answered Rickie Fowler's 20-foot birdie putt on the par three 17th with a birdie putt on 16 of his own from 15-feet.

Dragons ready for regional action
     HOLLY — The Swartz Creek girls’ tennis team is participating in the regional tournament tomorrow at Holly High School. Other teams joining the Dragons and Bronchos are Bay City Central, Clio, Fenton, Flint Northwestern, Flint Kearsley, Flushing, Lapeer East, Lapeer West and Ortonville Brandon.

     BASEBALL The Dragons swept Ortonville Brandon on Monday, wininng the opener, 2-1, and the nightcap, 5-4. Austin Gibson took the win in game on that went eight innings, striking out two and walking one, while Trenton Sheick had the team’s lone run.
